I just had to have a place to shower my adoration upon Ian Brill (writer), James Silvani (artist) and the rest of the good folks at Boom! who have brought the Disney Afternoon back to life for the past year or so. This week saw the release of Ducktales #5 (DT 1-4 doesn't impress me at a cursory glance), the first part of the final epic Darkwing/Ducktales crossover that will close the door on the KaBoom! Disney-verse. Disposition" and "The Ballot of Darkwing and Launchpad," both solid arcs that have incredible respect for the source material. Once I picked up the TPB of "Crisis on Infinite Darkwings" a week ago, I was hooked on the series! I had to see how it was all going to end.

I read the first issues of Darkwing and Rescue Rangers through this year's Free Comic Day issue and was really impressed with the overall quality. I sat on the sidelines for most of their runs, but with the cancellation immanent, I decided it might be time for me to check out what I had been missing. Over a year ago, I was happy to hear that Disney was loaning out its famous 90s franchises to be published by Boom! Studios (now under the "Kaboom" logo) in new comics.ĭarkwing Duck (/showthread.php?t=30215), Rescue Rangers (/showthread.php?t=31814), and Ducktales (/showthread.php?t=30288) all got new incarnations but now they are sadly coming to an end within the next month.
